What Sisters Are For

Aloha, makamaka! Heartsstarssmiles here! You know how much I ADORE my little sister, right? My mom says I mention this a lot (or at least used to), but I love her so much that people think I'm crazy! (If you've been reading this blog for sometime, you may know that I pride myself on being crazy.)

So, I'm gonna write some six word stories about her!
  • There when no one else is.
  • Lends a hand to no extent.
  • She turns that frown upside-down.
  • Understands when no one else does.
  • There for you no matter what.
  • Very, very, very, really, extremely CRAZY!!
  • Happy, jumpy, stylish, smart, and unique!
You know what else? My sister has a unique accent. (Another six word story!) Like, it's a combination of, I don't know, American, Indian, French, English, Spanish, German, Chinese, Vietnamese...

I love her! =D

Maybe It's a Pet, or a Friend,

"Third Wheel"

Ayo! Heartsstarssmiles here! I wrote a new song today! It's called "Third Wheel":

Yo!
You talk about it all the time
Again, again
Act like I'm not even there
Again, again
I get it!
Your friendship will never end
But don't forget about me
Everything that we've done
Remember that?
Like it was yesterday
Well, I do
Oh, ooh, oh

This feels like deja vu
D-Deja vu
Everyone's together
I'm the odd one out
Three's a crowd, yeah
Three's a crowd
Don't wanna go through this
'Cause I feel like a third wheel
Oh-ooh
I feel like a third wheel
No, no
No, no

I don't like jealousy
Again, again
That monster's got me too much
Again, again
I don't think I'm alone, no, no
'Cause I've got my other friends
We've outgrown tricycles
We don't need them anymore
Don't need that third wheel hanging around
I think
Oh, ooh, oh

This feels like deja vu
D-Deja vu
Everyone's together
I'm the odd one out
Three's a crowd, yeah
Three's a crowd
Don't wanna go through this
'Cause I feel like a third wheel
Oh-ooh
I feel like a third wheel
No, no
No, no

I don't want
I don't want
I don't want this pain
Like I'm tied
To the tracks
Of an express train
You know
You know
It hurts way more
Oh, oh, oh, oh
I'm going to war
I have no defense
But then I see my friends
And everything's all right

This feels like deja vu
Like deja vu
Keep it together
Keep it together
They say that
Three's a crowd
Don't need that third wheel
Don't wanna go, go through this
'Cause I feel like a third wheel
A third wheel
Oh, ooh, oh

What's your opinion? =D

Happy Earth Day!

I wore tape to school.

Okay, I'll greet you:14, or 0.7734! Heartsstarssmiles here!

Anyway, the tape. It Is Unknown came to my house a couple days ago. My dad, who's not afraid to let out his crazy side once in a while, made us both wear these spools of VCR tape on our heads. The tape fell and fell and fell and fell and...you get the point.

It Is Unknown and I decided to cut the tape and start a fashion trend. We went for a walk, sporting our style. Then, It Is Unknown said, "What if this got caught under a car?" So we turned back, saying, "Nothing to see here! Nothing to see here!"

I decided to wear the tape to school today. The first thing people usually asked was "Why?" You may say it's for Earth Day (Happy Earth Day!). One of my friends nicknamed me "Tape Girl."

BTW, I have some bloodthirsty classmates who wanted to choke me (but they didn't).

Ah, life! =D

Now I Know That...

...the factorial of 8 is 40320. Why do I memorize these things?

I remember people's schedules from last year, when they don't even remember it!

It's hard to forget, I'm not a stalker! =D

I Don't Know Why...

...but up to seven, i have all of the factorials memorized! I'll even make a list (do I make a lot?)!
  • 1:1
  • 2:2
  • 3:6
  • 4:24
  • 5:120
  • 6:720
  • 7:5040
Weird, huh?

Oh! I just remembered! Today, in my math class, I demonstrated a problem on the board (while a couple others demonstrated on the other boards). When I was done, of course, I was going to draw a smiley face. Right on cue, one person (or two people, I'm not sure)who, by the way, read(s) this blog (Hey, guys!)said "Smiley face." Then, they wanted me to draw it sideways, 'cause that's how I do it here, so I did.

My friend said, "You have one up and one sideways. Do it upside-down!"

"Okay!" I said, as I drew one upside-down, and then sideways the other way.

"That was a joke," he started to say. I might have done it anyway!

"There's rotation going on," my teacher observed as I went back to my desk.

Ah, I love school (but not homework, tests, nor studying)! =D

In Response to "Tsk"

Actually, IIU, it was just like this one day. I dunno why.

"Frenemies"

Hi, friends, enemies, and frenemies! I have this frenemy, who I wrote a song about. So here:

Friends we were
Friends we are
Or are we?
Is it BFF
Or just BF
Or FF?
It's complicated
Oh, oh, oh, oh
All these rumors
Appear out of nowhere
So not true

You, you-ou-ou
You're my friend, but
You, you-ou-ou
My enemy, too
I know they think
We're more than that
But that's all we were
And that's all we'll be
Frenemies

A whole lot
We've been through
It's not even funny
We hung out
All day long
Talking
These memories will never fade
Oh, no, no, no
We're friends
Sure
But nothing more

You, you-ou-ou
You're my friend, but
You, you-ou-ou
My enemy, too
I know they think
We're more than that
But that's all we were
And that's all we'll be
Frenemies

Oh, frenemies
Da, da, da, da
Frenemies
You, you-ou-ou
Fr-Frenemies
'Sup?
It wasn't in the stars
We say we're friends
Or are we, are we?
Don't wanna see you cry
But it wouldn't hurt me to lie
Cuz we're fre-ne-mieeeeeeeees
Frenemies
That's all we are

You...
You, you-ou-ou
You-ou-ou
Oh, you're my friend
You, y-ou-ou-u
Y-ou-ou-u
My enemy, my enemy
They say
We're more than tha-at
We're more than tha-at
So not true
It's complicated
But that's all we were
And that's all we are
And that's all we'll be
Frenemies
Frenemies
Just frenemies

For you songwriters, I just want to ask, isn't it so annoying when you're writing a song and another song is stuck in your head?

Frenemies! =D

Wrongful accusations, hhs!

Now the title header space is really long. Maybe from hhs' post.
Hmm.
Tsk, tsk.

Don't Look Down!

Okay, this is really weird, but when my grandpa and I went on this ski-lift-like thing at the zoo, I actually found comfort in looking down. At first, before we started, I was excited. Then we boarded and I started having second thoughts. I kept telling myself I could do it.

Then I looked down. Hey, this is fun! I thought.

I didn't want it to end, but "All good things come to an end." =D

I Know We Finished Soccer a Long Time Ago, But...

I wanna tell y'all a little story.

The irony is that I was just reading a story, and I felt like telling you one that I just randomly thought of. I have these friends who I meet often at school, and they love to hear all about my life. Every time I meet them, they make me tell them a joke, which is always from my life.

Anyway, you know how I love soccer? If you don't, I do. I'm not on a team or anything, but it's fun! But it wasn't always this way.

(And yes, I'm aware that US is the only country that calls soccer "soccer." Anyway...)

When I was in elementary school, I was SO HORRIBLE at soccer. Like, I didn't know any of the rules or anything. My idea of soccer was kicking a ball to a so-called "goal." But that's not how it works in real life, oh, no.

Sixth grade came around (I started writing a song about that, but I never finished it). When it was time for soccer, uh, yeah. The first day didn't go so well. This guy asked me what I wanted to do. I said that I didn't care, so I ended up being a defender. He told to not cross the middle line, and I obeyed. Yeah, I didn't move around much. Everyone (except for a couple kind people who didn't care) told me, "Heartsstarssmiles, you have to move!" I'm sorry, but the ball didn't come my way that often. (Hey, I blocked it once!)

After that, I improved, but not much. I just moved around more.

And then seventh grade (about which I wrote "Clean Slate") came around. I found out that I wasn't the only one who didn't know how to play soccer. I don't like homework (stopped after fourth grade), but I like the fact that our teacher actually goes over the rules for a sport, instead of just assuming that we know it all, even for a sport like soccer. So I actually learned the rules, and you know what? I'm good at soccer! I'm no Mia Hamm, but I'm decent for someone who didn't know the rules until just a few months ago! =D

Goal!
heartsstarssmiles

PS-We're gonna do a dance unit! I just hope it's fun. I remember the dance units we did in elementary school! Ah, elementary school!

She's good! (Click here.)

"Don't Be Sad"

Cheerio! Heartsstarssmiles here! I found a song I wrote back in 2008:

What is the matter?
Why are you down?
I can help you.
Why is there a frown?
Are you sad? Are you mad?
You are probably not glad.
People laugh at me for being poor.
Tell them how you feel.
I tried, but they didn't stop.
Make yourself clear.
Thank you very much.
I'll make myself clear.

Psst...What's your name?

I LOVE songwriting! Ugh, there are so many things I want to be! I can't choose just one!

Maybe that's a blessing...

Okay, I didn't mean to italicize that, but I'm gonna leave it that way because it kinda connects to the song! =D

Psst...What's your name?

Addition to "Find a Penny..."

Homakamjour! That's a combination of Spanish, Hindi, Tamil, and French. Anyway, it's heartsstarssmiles! You know what's hilarious about leaving pennies? Sometimes, your family finds them and has no idea you left them! LOL!!

Hey, did you know that my dad found a penny? Unfortunately, it was on the roof, and glass was stopping us from getting it. I kept asking him for a ladder. ;D

See Ya,
heartsstarssmiles

Our 200th Post!

Yay! This our 200th post in our less-than-four-month-old blog! =D

Just One More Post and Then...

Read the title. =D

Find a Penny...

$alut! Je m'appelle heartsstarssmiles! Have you ever dropped a few pennies here and there? Was it on purpose, like you wanted someone to find it? I've been on both sides: I've dropped the money to give someone else good luck, and I've received it. You know the old adage: Find a penny, pick it jup, all the day, you'll have good luck.

And good luck reminds me of superstitions. You know how, earlier, I said that I love reading scary stories at day, but they haunt me at night? Yeah, same for some superstitions.

I love Friday the 13th! It's such a thrill! I know I'm not alone. Some of my classmates like to joke about bad luck. In fact, last year, I was getting my book out of my backpack, 10 days before the 13th, and the bookmark fell out. Coincidence?

I just found a pun. Coincidence. Hmm...

How Can I Ever Get Bored with this Life of Mine?

PS-We all love Friday, right? But back in the day, it was considered unlucky.

Castles!

Good day! Heartsstarssmiles here! In Social Studies, we're going from Japan to Europe. The early Europeans had the magnificent, majestic, marvelous castles!

A big part of castles was defense. Sometimes, that defense was torture. And let me tell you, they were not afraid of a little violence. By the way, did you know that torture is to bring upon pain to someone while they're alive. They die a slow, painful death. It's an interesting topic that I like to read about, but, uh, yeah...

Heh heh.

What to Close With,

I am the Champion!

3.14159265358979323846264338327950288419716939937510582097494459230781...Hey you guys! Today is one of the greatest days of my life!

Okay, so I'm part of my school's math club. It's really fun! Today, we had this staff vs. students competition: eight students, eight staff. Many people from school were watching our every move. I was so nervous! But I realized that I had nothing to worry about.

Round One: I got the first few answers correct right away, so I was guaranteed one of the two spots for student finalists. Then I was asked to sit out while some tiebreakers commenced. Mike won the tiebreakers, so he was the other finalist. Mike's this nice, funny guy I know from elementary school. He's one grade above me.

Round Two: The heat was on for the eight teachers who were going head-to-head for the two spots for staff finalists. There were, of course, a few math teachers. One was my math teacher last year, one this year. The staff finalists ended up being my teacher and my principal.

So, you see how it's a fight to the death, kind of like The Hunger Games!

The Finals: The first one to two points was the champion. My friends started cheering for me. One wrote my name in big letters on a whiteboard and showed it to everyone. I got one point, but so did my teacher and principal. "I'm behind," commented Mike. But, actually, he's advanced in math, like me. When the next question came, I raised my hand. The hostess, another teacher, called on me. I gave my answer, heart pounding like a bass drum. She screamed that it was the correct answer! Everyone clapped. Another teacher told me to stand up. I did, smiling and laughing so hard! I looked to my left, my friends looked so happy. I looked slightly to the right, my other friend was clapping. This was a dream come true!

After: "And the winner gets a medal!" the hostess exclaimed. "What the" I started (please note that I don't curse). The teacher, who was the finalist, dug up the medal and maneuvered it over my head. I hugged my friends, and one of them even picked me up (not like an "on the shoulders" thing, it's just something she likes to do)! Everyone was congratulating me, even people I didn't know! "It was funny," one of my friends said. "The math teachers were all stumped, and you were like..." He gestured by raising his hand repeatedly. Oh, and they took SO MANY PICTURES!!

I love my life! =D

Reposting "Teenage"!

Feliz cumpleaƱos! Tomorrow, April 3rd, is Eddie Murphy's birthday! Guess who shares a birthday with him? Seriously, guess!

My friend Charles!

That may or may not be his real name.

He's been saying that he feels young, but that's all going to change! You know why? Because he's about to enter the world of...teenage!

Remind you of a song I wrote a few weeks ago? Yeah, I'm reposting it! So, here:

T-Teenage,
T-T-T-Teenage,
Yeah, oh,

Always been told to cherish my childhood,
Yeah, yeah,
Now, I see how true they've been,
I've always been in two worlds,
Often been the odd one out,
Now, I'm practically an adult,
But do you think that's gonna change?

Oh, teeeeeeenage,
Teeeeeeenage,
Teeeeeeenage,
Yeah, yeah, oh,
Time to get serious!
Not twenty-four/seven!
Gonna have so much fun!
But not too much!
Teeeeeeenage!
Yeah, yeah, yeah!

Gonna party all night long!
But I'll still learn, don't worry!
Imma sing and dance along,
To everything, yeah!
Don't judge me,
I just wanna be carefree,
Until the time comes...

Oh, teeeeeeenage,
Teeeeeeenage,
Teeeeeeenage,
Yeah, yeah, oh,
Time to get serious!
Not twenty-four/seven!
Gonna have so much fun!
But not too much!
Teeeeeeenage!
Yeah, yeah, yeah!

More responsibilities to deal with,
I know I can handle it all,
But what if...
You know what I mean
I know it's not all fun and games,
But I'm gonna make the most of it,
Maaaake the most of it,
Let nothing stand in my way, hey, yeah!

Oh, whoa! Teenage!
Yeah, yeah, ohhh!
Teeeeeeenage!
Gotta love it!
Time to get serious!
But not all the time!
Not all the time, yeah, yeah!
Gonna have so much fun!
Teeeeeeenage!
Cherish your childhood!
Teeeeeeenage!
Yeah, yeah, yeah!

T-Teenage,
T-T-T-Teenage!

So, Charles, happy birthday! =D

Scary Stories!

I like reading scary stories at day, but they always haunt me at night, like yesterday! =D

My Persuasive Essay!

Greetings! It's heartsstarssmiles! Okay, so, we were working (alliteration!) on writing persuasive essays in English. Class. On my first one, which was a rough draft, we were peer grading the counterargument. I got good comments! =D

But for my next one, uh...We were supposed to give three reasons as to why we're on whichever side we're on. We got many topics to choose from. I, wanting to go the extra mile, wrote about 10-15. I got one good comment (to the person who wrote that: thank you!).

But I decided to go with my gut, because I knew that my reasons were legitimate. Not saying they're right, just authentic, genuine. I felt happier and happier as I typed each word of the essay to turn it in. Today, we got the essays back, and guess what. I got an A+!

What I'm saying is that, while you shouldn't let criticism knock you down (the whole purpose is to bring you up), if you believe strong enough in what you're doing, go ahead and do it! You have to take risks! I'm not saying you should take extremely dangerous risks, but you can't always be safe.

Follow your dreams! You can never go wrong with that! =D

Your Heart is Your Compass,
heartsstarssmiles
