Did the Mayans predict the world's end?

Heeeeeeelp!  Oh, I'm safe!  The world has not ceased to exist!  Wait...what? But didn't the Mayans...

Heartsstarssmiles here!  The 2012 apocalypse was a fun, interesting debate! Will the world end on 12/12/12 or 12/21/12 (12/21/12 or 21/12/21, fyi)?  How did the Mayans predict the world's end?  Will the world really end?  Some of you shrugged it off as a myth, but there was that 1% of 1% of a doubt.  I like to say that the apocalypse was exaggerated, with large earthquakes and Hurricane Sandy.

The day the world was supposed to end (December 21), some were nervous, waiting for the end of the world.  Even some news people predicted that the temperature would be 12,000°F (6648.9°C), due to the sun's explosion!

Now, it's over.  Many think that the Mayans incorrectly predicted the world's end...but that's not true.  You see, the Mayans were a very advanced civilization.  (Read about it here: http://voices.yahoo.com/inca-maya-aztec-empire-achievments-359085.html)  They created a ton of calendars.  Their last one ended on December 21, 2012.  However, the civilization died before they could create any more.  Although 2012 is a good movie (in my opinion), it can't and won't happen.

What's your favorite doomsday movie, now that we know that we'll live on? =D

Stay strong,
