I'm here to tell you about Pandora. The original Pandora. The Pandora of Greek Mythology.
Pandora, in Greek Mythology, was the first woman on earth, created by Hephaestus. She was granted beauty, clothing, and speech by various gods.
Prometheus then stole fire from the gods to give to the humans. Zeus, to get vengeance, showed Pandora Epimetheus, Prometheus' brother. He gave Pandora a pithos, which was given to her by the gods. She was told to, under any circumstance, not open it, even a tiny peek.
The box, or pithos, held all the evils of the earth. Disease, plague, thievery, envy, etc.
Pandora peeked into the pithos, out of sheer curiosity, and accidentally released all the evils except one. Hope. She had not given up hope.
Pandora was very frightened, for she had gone against the gods wishes, and opened the pithos. She was not punished, though. Zeus had known she would.
Nowadays, when someone says, "she opened Pandora's Box," or something like that, they mean the person did something that they thought would have no effect on anything, but it really does.
It is Unknown
